Massage therapy is an effective treatment for reducing chronic and acute physical pain and can help you recover faster from injury as well as reduce the need for pain medication. Massage has been shown to improve immune function as well as reducing stress. Stress is the silent killer and is at the root of many diseases and health challenges. Massage helps by reducing cortisol and epinephrine, the stress hormones and by raising the feel-good hormones dopamine and serotonin.
I can visit you in your own home or place of work or provide massage in a clinic room if you are in the Oxfordshire area depending on your preference. Treatments are usually one hour in duration although I can do half hour sessions if you prefer. Current guidelines recommend sessions are kept to a sixty minute maximum. Your safety and wellbeing is important. To ensure that I will follow the current guidelines as laid out by the ISRM. For most treatment sessions, unless you are exempt from wearing a mask it is recommended that you wear one. Before the massage treatment takes place, I will go through some forms and perform an assessment. Unless I am working on a specific are which will be uncovered you will be covered with towels.
